Mark Faherty was taken aback when he spotted a Vermilion Flycatcher (Pyrocephalus obscurus) in Brewster, as it is believed that the bird species is mostly found in Arizona or Texas.
Mark suggests that the bird may have originated from Venezuela. The species has only been spotted three times in Massachusetts, with sightings ranging from 1954 to 2017.
