It was a heartbreaking scene as a homeless puppy cried beside its lifeless companion, unwilling to part ways.
With over five million views online, a heart-wrenching video captures a puppy standing guard over its fallen companion in Suining City’s Daying county, located in China’s Sichuan Province. A concerned pedestrian who goes by the name Mr. Xiong rushes to aid the puppy but finds that it refuses to leave the side of its deceased friend.
The small pup seems to be gazing straight into the lens and making a plea for help with its high-pitched, mournful yelps. According to Mr. Xiong, one of the dogs had already passed away, while the other was in poor shape and nearing death. “Its cries were incredibly sad,” he remarked.
On October 25, a video captured the heartbreaking sight of a dead dog lying motionless on the ground while another injured dog stood guard over it. Despite his grief, Mr. Xiong had to leave the deceased dog behind and take the living one with him. He wrapped the surviving pooch in a piece of clothing and brought it with him.
When Mr. Xiong arrived at work, he found a stray puppy wandering around. The poor pooch was weak and in need of food, so Mr. Xiong and his colleagues decided to feed it. Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep the dog at their workplace, so they put it in a cardboard box and took it to an animal shelter not far away.
Mr. Xiong expressed his wish for a kind-hearted person to give the pet a loving home by adopting it.
